Smoke in a Trailer, 209 Park Lane (Box 21-6)

Company 21, Truck 22 and Engine 23 dispatched class one to 209 Park Lane in Washington Township for smoke in a trailer. Truck 22 responded with 7 and Engine 22 stood by in quarters with 5. On arrival, a 10 by 50 foot trailer had a light smoke haze in the kitchen area. The crew laddered the trailer while crews from 21 and 23 went interior. A faulty refrigerator was found to be the cause. Command placed the box available.
2011
Car Fires, One Stop Recycling (Box 23-2)

Engine 22 dispatched class one to Coaldale Road in Wiconisco Township to set up a fill site for tankers that were working a multiple car fire at One Stop Recycling. Engine and Tanker 23 were on the scene of multiple cars on fire in the junk yard, and command 23 requested Engine 22 for a fill site at the hydrant at Medco on Coaldale Road, and additionally requested Engine and Tanker 21 and Tanker 24 to the scene to assist. Engine 22 responded with 4 and two additional members responded POV. On arrival at Medco, the Engine crew set up the fill site using the manifold, and filled three tankers. Three crew members went down to the scene and assisted with suppression efforts. After control was marked and no additional tankers needed filled, command released the Engine and the company went available.
2008
Accident with Injuries, 672 Main Street (Box 22-3)

Company 22 and Engine 23 were dispatched for an accident with injuries in front of Don's Food Rite on Main Street. Chief 22, who lives nearby, walked to the scene and assumed command. Engine 22 responded with a crew of six, Truck 22 responded with a crew of seven, and Engine 23 responded. Units arrived on the scene and found three vehicles involved, with one person injured. Crews assisted with traffic control and patient extrication while the crew from Engine 23 stabilized the vehicle. After transfer of the patient to a Medic 6 ambulance, Engine 23 was released, and the Company 22 crew controlled traffic until a wrecker arrived to remove one of the vehicles. The other two vehicles were able to be driven from the scene. After cleaning up the intersection, Company 22 went available.
2007
Tree Down, Glen Road (Box 22-2)

Company 22 was alerted class three to a report from PSP of a tree down across the Glen Road, near the small pavilion in Glen Park. Chief 22 responded POV, and Engine 22 responded class 3 with a crew of four. On arrival, the crew found a rotted tree that had partially fallen onto the roadway. The tree was cut up with a chainsaw, and debris was cleared off the roadway. The Engine was then placed available.

Tanker 22 was dispatched to the Etzweiler farm in Jefferson Township for a grain dryer fire. Tanker 22 responded with a crew of two, and was canceled enroute.

Vehicle Accident - Porter Twp, Schuylkill Co, PA

Saturday evening, August 25, 1934, at 4 o'clock, Gurney Troutman, Delbert Brown, and Misses, Veronica Nickawiska, Katherine Powell, and Corrine Powell, all of Tower City, and Miss Helen Russellavage, of Sheridan, were returning from the Holmes Safety Association picnic held at Keffers. About a mile from the picnic, the passenger car in which they were riding, driven by Gurney Troutman, skidded across the highway, crashed into a fence breaking seven posts, and turned over on the wire rope, which saved them from possible death on the steep mountain side. Miss Russelavage sustained injuries believed to be a fracture of the skull. She was admitted to the Williams Valley Hospital in Williamstown in an unconscious condition. She remained unconscious Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Miss Katherine Powell, after being given first aid at the office of Dr. David Hawk in Tower City, was admitted to the Pottsville Hospital, suffering with a fracture of the shoulder. The Others in the car escaped with minor lacerations and contusions. The sedan they were riding in was damaged considerably.
