Liberty Hose Co. No. 2 - Incident Detail #2022

A fire in a structure on the Upper Dauphin Area Middle School property in Loyalton was deliberately set. The fire alarm was placed at 7:11 a.m. on Sunday <date>, 1974. The blaze was set in the rear first floor of the two and a half story frame farmhouse used as a co-op project by the school's vocational classes. Damage to the structure was extensive and the content of one room was destroyed, including construction materials, tools, and clothing and shoes belonging to students. Elizabethville Fire Chief Charles Wertz did not estimate the damage and the fire was investigated by a state police deputy fire marshal. The Elizabethville fire company was assisted by a tanker from Lykens.
