2012 Block Party
June 26th thru June 30th
The 2012 Block Party starts with a parade on Tuesday night at 7 p.m., after which the Liberty Hose Company No. 2 Band will perform on stage for the evening. Brad Crum will be in town on Wednesday night with his tribute to the King of Rock n Roll, Elvis Presley. Thursday night's entertainment will be by Lorado, a great country rock band. The After Hours band will be with us on Friday night. Their show is an exciting combination of big band styles. The music on Saturday night will be provided by The Resistors. See the schedule below for more information on the entertainment and website links. The fire company runs some fun games in our wooden stands located across from the band stage. When these stands are patronized, all proceeds go to the fire company. Our games will include Cake Wheel, Rip Off Tickets, and Dime Pitch. The Baseball Radar Gun will be back again, where you can clock how fast you can throw a baseball. In addition, we contract with Otto's Amusements who will provide games and rides. The fire company does receive part of the proceeds from these stands as well. Ride night or Family Night will be two nights this year. For one low price of $12 per night, ride all the rides you want on Wednesday and/or Thursday. Our food stands include our famous French Fries and Cheese Fries, Deep Fried Oreos, Funnel Cakes, Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Hot Sausages, chicken fingers, Soda, Guers Iced Tea, and famous Augue's Milk Shakes. Club entertainment for Friday night will be "Deuce." Saturday's club entertainment will be "One Night Stand." The club will be open to the public. Come join us, dance, and have a good time.
Don't Forget: Friday night is Hawaiian Shirt Night. Wear a Hawaiian Shirt to receive a chance to win one of two prizes. Stop by the soda window to show your Hawaiian shirt and get a ticket for the drawing.
The Block Party held by the fire company is a Lykens tradition and is our main fund raising event of the year. Please visit us each night and support our operations by enjoying our food, games, and entertainment.
