| Hello, My name is Josh Lee. My grandfather was a member at your station in the 1930's and 40's (I think). His name was Park James. He died in the 60's. I have a key with the Liberty Hose Company Maltese cross on the front and inscribed "Liberty Hose Company #2 25 Years" on the back. Was just wondering if anyone there remembers him or if there is possibly any other information about him there. I enjoyed your site! Be Careful out there, |
|

| Yes, some members remember Park. He was a member from 3-10-1938 until his death on 7-3-1965. The key you mentioned was an award for 25 years of membership. |

| Are you hosting the car show with burnout contest this year? If so, what is the date. |
|
| LHC Response |
| The car show was hosted jointly with the Lykens Police Department. Unfortunately, due to the problems with the police department this year, the car show will not be held. |

| My uncle and grand father are and were members of your department. I am looking for pictures of them. I have looked through your pictures up through the seventies and recognize some of the members. Back in the sixties I remember the conventions you hosted and the good times I had with my uncle. |

| I was born in Lykens at the Lykens Hospital on Market Street. I have fond memories of the old fire truck and the Jeep. I was helping out during the 1972 Flood. I was a dispatcher for the fire dept. Do You have any pictures of the Forman's Store Fire on Main Street or the fire that was just next door to the fire house on the corner of Market and South Second Street? Those fires were in the 60's. |
|
| LHC Response |
| No, we don't have pictures of those fires. But, we would love to. Any help anybody can provide would be appreciated. (See Request for Information) |

| I was wondering if I could purchase a T-shirt if you sell them to the public. I am trying to collect a lot of different fire companies' items because my father used to be a volunteer firefighter for Dauphin/Middle Paxton when he was younger. It would make him proud that I, his daughter, would be supporting different fire companies.
God bless the ones who serve and protect our country !
If you could please let me know any information, it would be greatly apriciated!

| LHC Response |
| We appreciate your desire to support the fire companies and applaud your patriotism and encouragement for those who serve! Perhaps one day our website can sell the items you desire. |

| Just wanted to let you know I have been watching this site and it is looking good. I wrote once before. My Grandfather Samuel Hoover was band director, in the 1800's I don't have the exact date, also all his kids (my aunts and uncles and my father Clarence Hoover played in the band). I wish I had some pictures of then but I don't. My one uncle Bill coles also was a drummer in the band. Back then they called it the Hose House, I loved it when we went back to visit at Christmas and went to see the parade and the best part was when they would throw caramel popcorn balls to the crowd, and of course to see Santa.
Sorry I don't have any pictures to contribute to the site, but I keep looking for my relatives in case someone else sends in a picture or knows them. I do geneology but got stopped at one point with the Hoover's.
Thankyou for your site

| Hi Hose Company #2,
I am Steve Wilson, Louis Wentzler's great-grandson, Leon Lebo's grandson. I have been wondering when you would update your site.
It looks great! Just wondering if you will add more Lykens history like the brewery history? I have a hose company photo from around 1903. You may have it but I can email a copy in case you don't.
Keep up the updates,
Steve |

| Thanks for the picture! There is Lykens info planned for the website. However, the content is in question at this time. We may opt to put our Lykens info on the Lykens website instead. (www.lykenspa.com) Check back later to see what we decide. |

| Great new site. Thanks to all of you. As a Marine that has been deployed a lot in the past few years, it is great to see that there are Americans that still take pride in their country and their community. Keep up the great work.
Thanks,
