Engines 22 and 23 were dispatched to the Laing residence at 300 Division Street for a chimney fire. Engine 22 responded with a crew of nine personnel, approaching the scene via North Street from Market Street. While still about four blocks away, the engine crew could see flames several feet in the air coming from the chimney. Upon arrival, the crew split - with some going to the roof and others going to the basement. A crew was also sent to the attic to check for possible extensions. Furnace pipes were pulled and cleaned, and the roof crew applied chimflex down the chimney to extinguish the fire. No extension of fire was found. The crews re-attached the furnace pipes, and went available.
