Incident Detail: 1982 Call No. 13
Call No. 13
June 9, 1982
Companies 22 and 23 were dispatched to the Glen Pool for a report of a possible drowning victim. Members responded directly to the scene, and began searching the swimming pool looking for a boy that had been reported by some of his buddies as to have fallen into the water. After about 20 minutes of searching, a foot was spotted breaking the water's surface near the flood gates. Several members jumped into the water and found the boy partially trapped under a very large rock. Moving the rock, they were able to free the boy and bring him onto dry land, where resuscitation efforts were started. The boy was revived and transported to the hospital for further treatment. He survived the ordeal.
