Liberty Hose Co. No. 2 - Incident Detail #3540

Tower 22 dispatched class one to 1517 Route 209 in Upper Paxton Township at Mountain Ridge Metals for a commercial structure fire. Tower 22 responded with 7 and was instructed that on arrival proceed to the C/D corner of a 160 foot by 600 foot manufacturing plant with fire visible from the roof and prepare for aerial operations. The Tower set up and sent a total of 5 members to the roof and utilizing dry chem followed by water worked on fire extinguishment. The Tower used a 100 foot inch and three quarter line and was supplied by Squad 29 which laid out 1000 feet of 5 inch supply line picking up Engine 26's line from a hydrant. Fire was in the paint booth area and required extensive work by crews from 20, 21, and 29 to access and eventually put out. After control was marked a lot of overhaul was required and continued for some time. The Tower was eventually released and returned available.
