Liberty Hose Co. No. 2 - Incident Detail #3409

On a bright and sunny Easter morning, the 27-1 structure box dropped for 201 North Second street in Gratz for a structure fire. Chief 27 arrived on scene and assumed command with a fully involved fire. Truck 22 responded with 7 and on arrival at a 1 story 30 foot by 90 foot rancher went to the C/D corner and beached the Truck. Crew laddered the C side of the building and assisted with fire extinguishment. The roof on the D side was burned away. Crews began advancing lines interior on the transitional attack and were able to get a knockdown of the bulk of the fire. Heavy overhaul was needed and the crew assisted companies 27, 21, 26, 28 and 23 throughout the structure until released by Command 27.
