Liberty Hose Co. No. 2 - Incident Detail #3260

Company 22 and Engine 23 dispatched class one to 601 Main street in Lykens to the Israel Building for an automatic fire alarm. Chief 22 responded to the scene and on arrival at a 40 by 100 foot 3 story apartment building found the building evacuated with audible and visible alarms sounding. Investigation found the alarm to be coming from the first floor lobby by the clothes dryers. There was no fire just steam from the dryer vent that triggered the alarm. Command 22 held the box to Engine 22 non emergency. Engine 22 responded with 5 and arrived on side A and went interior to assist with investigation. The building manager had arrived on scene and having found no other issues in the building it was turned over too her and the box was placed available.
