Engine and Truck 22 dispatched class one to Rattling Creek Apartments at 15 South Second Street in Lykens for an automatic fire alarm. Chief 22-1 responded POV to the scene and Engine 22 went enroute with 3 and Truck 22 with 2. On arrival of Chief 22-1n at a 63 foot by 132 foot 4 story housing facility he found the building evacuated . Upon entering the first floor lobby he encountered an electrical fire with smoke and flames in the lobby and advise incoming units to bring a dry chem and the TIC on arrival. Engine 22 arrived side D and sent their crew interior. Truck 22 took side A and sent their crew in as well. An electric heater mounted on the wall of the lobby had caught fire and was put out with a dry chem but there was a heavy smoke condition in the lobby and first floor hallway. A fan was set up and negative pressure was used to clear the smoke out of the building. The alarm panel was reset and power to the heater was shut off while the crew removed the heater and took it outside. After clearing the smoke and maintenance cleaned up the lobby the residents were allowed to re enter and the box was placed available.
