Company 216 and 21 initially dispatched to 352 Mountain House road in Jackson Township at the Harman Stove Company for an automatic fire alarm. Chief 216-1 arrived on scene and had a smoke condition inside the structure and upgraded the box adding companies 19, 20, Truck 22, 23 27 and 29. Truck 22 responded with 7 and was advised during response that on arrival to set up on the A/D corner of the structure, a 300 foot by 450 foot commercial structure with multiple floors and steel and metal construction under a rubber roof. On arrival the Truck set up at the A/D corner and went to the roof while some members went interior. Investigation determined that an HVAC unit had failed and once power to it was shut off the smoke began to dissipate. The roof crew using a thermal imaging camera found no other hot spots on the roof units. Command turned the building back over to the owners and placed all units available.
