The 22-1 box dispatched class one to 562 Main Street in Lykens for a structure fire, bringing companies 22, 23, 24 and 21 and Medic 6. Chief 22 responded POV from his residence and arrived on scene of a 2 and 1/2 story 60 foot by 40 foot multi address attached structure consisting of row houses 562, 564, 566, and 568 Main Street. All four addresses shared a common attic and basement. Chief 22 assumed command and reported smoke from the second floor eaves of 562 Main. Engine 22 responded with 5 and tagged the hydrant at the square and laid in 200 feet of 5 inch supply like to the A/B corner of the structures. Utility 22 responded with 3 and staged in the Mid Penn Bank parking lot and sent their manpower forward. Engine 23 and Medic 6 and Lykens PSP also arrived on scene. A four person crew went interior at 562 Main and found no smoke on the first floor. When they advanced up the stairs to the second floor landing they encountered a smoke condition and fire burning through the paneling attached to the common wall between 562 and 564 Main Street. Two members using hooks and a PW began pulling paneling and insulation while extinguishing visible fire with the can. Two members proceeded thru the front bedroom to a door that led to the attic where they encountered fire at the top of the steps. Using another can they began extinguishing visible fire. A 2 inch pre-connect from Engine 22 was advanced to the attic by a two person crew from Engine 23 and it was used to extinguish the remaining visible fire. While performing this action sparks were observed coming from exposed wiring in the attic so a request was made to have a crew go into the basement to shut off power to the building. Once that was done crews completed wetting down any remaining hot spots. Additional crews had entered 564 Main and found smoke but very little extension. Control was marked while crews were tearing out ceilings and paneling on the second floor. Additional crews from 24 and 21 checked for any extension into 566 and 568 Main. PPL removed power meters to 562 and 564 Main Street. Truck 20 (a replacement piece for Truck 22) arrived on side A and prepared to go to the roof but that was not needed. Command began releasing mutual aid companies as they rounded up their tools and crew. Power was restored to 566 and 568 Main while the occupants of 562 and 564 Main were placed with the Red Cross. When equipment was returned to service command placed the box available.
