Liberty Hose Co. No. 2 - Incident Detail #2730

Company 22 and Engine 23 for the out of service Engine 22 dispatched class one to 606 North Street in Lykens Borough for a report of sparks coming from a baseboard electric baseboard unit in a residence. Chief 22-2 responded from his residence across the street to a 2 story half a duplex wood frame dwelling with nothing evident from the outside side A. The occupants met him at the front door and investigation of the interior found a baseboard unit on the D side of the building that had shorted out. Truck 22 responded with 7 and Utility 22 with 4. Chief 22 responded POV and on his arrival he assumed command and placed Engine 23 in service. The Truck arrived on side A and sent a crew to the basement to confirm that power to the heating unit was shut off. Utility 22 arrived and staged on Market Street. After further investigation command placed the box in service.
