Company 22 and 23 dispatched class one to Powells Valley Road about a half mile from the top of the mountain on the 216-8 box for a single vehicle accident with fire. The car was reported to be off the road into the woods and on fire with no injuries. Engine 22 responded with 6 and Utility 22 with 5. Engine, Tanker, and Attack 23 also responded. On arrival of the Engine they had a single vehicle down over an embankment after clipping several trees. The woods around the car were also on fire as well as the engine block of the car which was still on the roadway on fire. The Engine 22 crew pulled one hand line and approached the fire from the upper side while the Engine 23 crew pulled one line and approached from the lower side. After extinguishing the car fire the crews put out the brush fire and wet down the surrounding woods while also extinguishing the motor which was still on fire on the roadway. Medic 6 arrived and the two vehicle occupants were checked out by them and were unhurt. Lieutenant 22-1 and an additional crew member who had arrived on scene POV went back down the Lykens side of the mountain and diverted traffic at the Lykens Road into Minnichs Hit. Company 19 was requested to be dispatched to set up a road block on the Carsonville side of the scene. Brush 19 responded and blocked traffic at the intersection of Powells Valley Road and Back Road. PSP was on scene and requested Kiners Towing to remove the vehicle and motor. Company 23 was released and the 22 crew remained on scene until the wrecker removed the vehicle and motor. After completing that task, Company 22 went available.
