Liberty Hose Co. No. 2 - Incident Detail #2579

Company 22 dispatched class three to Powells Valley Road in Jackson Township about a mile from the top of the Lykens mountain for a reported tree down across the roadway. Engine 22 responded with 3 and Chief 22 POV. After searching for the tree it was finally located a mile below the area known as the handboard in Jefferson Township. It appeared to be a cluster of trees that all fell that were completely blocking Powells Valley Road. The crew began attempts to clear the tree from the road. Medic 6 and Brush 19 were requested to the scene to assist. Brush 19 responded with 4 and Chief 19 POV. On their arrival the crews continued work on the multiple trees. Assistance from Penndot with a loader was requested. The event was turned over to Company 19 since it was in their territory and they released Company 22. They remained on scene until the arrival of Penndot shortly after that.
