Liberty Hose Co. No. 2 - Incident Detail #2272

Company 22 dispatched class one for a report of a smoke alarm sounding at 414 Market Street in Lykens Borough. The property was long abandoned with no occupants. Chief 22-2 responded POV to the scene and met Lykens PD, and heard a smoke alarm sounding in a 1 1/2 story single family wood frame building. Chief 22 responded to the scene as well. Engine 22 responded with 6 and was advised to respond in class three. After making entry, a smoke alarm in the basement was found to be sounding, and was disabled. There was a heavy moisture content in the basement. After the engine arrived and the crew checked the entire building and found nothing, the box was placed in service.
