Company 22, Rescue 23, and Medic 6 dispatched class 1 to the intersection of South Street and Market Street in Lykens for a multiple vehicle accident with injuries. Chief 22 responded POV, Engine 22 with 4, Utility 22 with 5, and Rescue 23 along with two units from Medic 6, PSP, and Lykens Borough PD. On arrival, Chief 22 established command, noted that all occupants were out of their vehicles, and requested Rescue 23 to reduce their response to class three. On arrival of Engine and Utility 22, crew began patient care until the arrival of EMS, while also securing traffic at the scene and checking the vehicles. One vehicle ended up in the front yard of a house on the 700 block of Market Street, one vehicle spun around onto South Street and struck a porch and came to rest in front of a telephone pole, and another vehicle came to rest in the 600 block of Market Street. The vehicle on South Street was cribbed by Rescue 23. Two patients in the vehicle on South Street were transported and the rest refused treatment. Rescue 23 was released, and Company 22 remained on scene until the towing company removed all three vehicles, and then went available.
