Liberty Hose Co. No. 2 - Incident Detail #2161

Company 22, 23, Engine 24 and Rescue 21 dispatched class one to 616 Parkview Lane in Lykens for a reported structure fire with entrapment. Lieutenants 22 and 22-1 were on scene with a burn patient inside and were attempting to remove him from the structure. Engine 22 responded with 5 and Truck 22 with 2. On arrival, the Engine took side C with a hydrant on Laurel Lane, and Truck 22 took side A on Parkview. Engine 23 and Rescue 23 staged at the hydrant on Park View side A. Initial size-up showed a small brush fire in the rear yard that had spread to the back wall of the structure and the wall between the next door residence. Crew from the Engine pulled one 2 inch line and extinguished visible fire, with the Truck and Rescue crews going interior to find the victim and check for extension inside. Occupant was located inside and no fire interior. Engine 23 was re-directed to the Station 23 LZ to set up for Life Lion to transport the occupant of the structure. After control was marked, crews pulled ceilings and assisted EMS with packaging and transferring the occupant to their unit for transport to the LZ. Engine 24 was placed in service, and Rescue 21 stood by on side A. After patient was removed and salvage and overhaul completed, command placed the box available.
