While crews were manning the station on standby as hurricane Sandy was making landfall, the 22-1 box was dispatched for a report of something burning at 759 Main Street in Lykens, sending companies 22, 23, 24, and 21. Chief 22 responded POV, and Engine 22 responded with 6, Truck 22 with 7, and Utility 22 with 4. On arrival Engine 23 had side A/D with the Truck side A and Engine 22 with the hydrant and laid in to side A/B. Investigation of the interior determined that water in the basement had reached the furnace motor. Command held the box to companies 22 and 23. After venting the house and pumping out the basement, the box was placed available.
