Company 21, Truck 22, Rescue 23 and EMS dispatched class one to 6236 Route 209 for a reported electrical fire in an apartment. Truck 22 responded with 7 and Rescue 23 with 8, and Engine, Tanker, and Rescue 21. Truck 22 arrived on scene side A and had a 2 1/2 story wood frame apartment building with normal conditions from the exterior. A crew went interior while the building was laddered. An electrical outlet in the front first floor right apartment was found to be charred and smoldering. Power had been cut to the apartment by the occupants prior to them leaving. Crews using the TIC checked for hot spots, checked and evacuated the upper floors, and checked for possible extension, finding none. Company 21 arrived on scene and Chief 21-1 assumed command. After checking the wall surrounding the outlet and finding nothing burned or charred, and isolating and disabling the power to the individual apartment affected, command released companies 23 and 22 as they waited for the property owner and an electrician to arrive on scene.
