Company 22, Engine and Rescue 23, Engine 24, Rescue 21, and Air Lite 66-60 dispatched to 610 Market Street in Lykens for a report of smoke in a structure. Engine 22 responded with 5, Truck 22 with 3, and 6 members responded from the station on foot since the location was right behind Station 22. Engine 22 laid a 5 inch line in from the hydrant at Arch and Market, and set up on the A/D corner. Truck 22 responded in by way of South Street and took up the A/B corner. Captain 22 had command. The engine crew pulled one 1 3/4 line and advanced it uncharged to the rear of the structure while the truck crew laddered the building. A crew went interior and found that power was off to the basement and kitchen of the house. Two breakers were tripped, and the problem was isolated to the kitchen circuit. Investigation of the breaker box found water had entered the panel and shorted out the power. The main breaker was shut off and the crew checked for any extensions. The home owner was advised to get an electrician in to service the panel. The box was cleared and all units were placed available.
