At the request of Chief 22-2 on the scene, Engine 22 was dispatched class one to the 600 block of Main Street for an oil spill. A vehicle driving through the square had an engine oil pan perforated by a thrown rod, dumping oil for about 100 feet until the driver was able to pull off to the side of the road. Engine 22 responded with a crew of six, and spread high-dry on the spill to soak up as much oil as possible from the street. Main Street, from Market Street to Spruce Street, was closed to traffic during the cleanup. PSP on the scene contacted a tow service for the damaged car. After cleanup, the street was re-opened for traffic and the engine went available.
