Liberty Hose Co. No. 2 - Incident Detail #1619

Truck 22 was dispatched to Williamstown to a reported structure fire with entrapment at 344 Julian Street. Company 24, 66, and 23 were also dispatched. Truck 22 responded with a crew of seven. Chief 24 on scene reported a working fire with entrapment, and requested the second alarm, bringing Companies 21, 20, and Schuylkill 66, 650, and eventually 659, 655, and 810. 344 Julian Street was a duplex building, and the fire had spread to the other half and had also jumped a short gap to the detached single family dwelling on the D side. A total of ten Company 22 members were on the scene, and assisted with ventilation, extinguishment, and overhaul. One person was entrapped in the original fire building, and perished. Crews located and removed the body after the fire was extinguished.
