Liberty Hose Co. No. 2 - Incident Detail #1524

Truck 22 was requested by Command 21 to respond class 3 to a reported propane gas leak at the Walmart shopping center in Washington Township. Engine and Rescue 21, under the command of Chief 21, were on scene and investigating a report of a strong odor of propane in the store at the A/D corner. Investigation could not find a source inside the store. Chief 21 requested Truck 22 to assist with checking out the roof above the A/D corner. Truck 22 responded with a crew of seven, set up on side A, and sent two members to the roof to investigate. They found a strong gas odor in the area of one of the roof HVAC units. The remainder of the truck crew went inside to assist with searching the entire warehouse and deli area of the store for any odors. They found none. The roof HVAC unit was isolated and Chief 21, after conferring with store personnel, placed the box in service. All units went available.
