Liberty Hose Co. No. 2 - Incident Detail #1521

Engines 22 and 23 were dispatched to the intersection of Main and Division Streets for a two car accident with injuries. Chief 22-1 responded to the scene POV (bicycle) along with Chief 22 by conventional means. Two crew members from Company 22 had responded to the station by two wheeled transportation as well. Medic 6 had units on five other calls at the time, and the on duty crew was in station 22 without a unit. Engine 22 responded with a crew of four, as well as the EMT and Paramedic from Company 6, who staffed a "paramedic engine." Upon arrival on the scene, the crew found one vehicle still in the intersection and the other vehicle on Division Street. Command placed Engine 23 in service prior to their arrival. There were fluids and glass on the roadway. A BLS unit from company 24 (Williamstown) was on scene, and the mixed crew from Engine 22 assisted with getting a patient onboard Ambulance 24-1. After arrival of PSP, the engine crew cleared the streets of debris and went available.
