 656 North Street

January 12, 2007

Company 22 was dispatched to 656 North Street in Lykens for a CO alarm activation. Engine-22 responded with a crew of five and Truck-22 responded with a crew of four. This location has had similar CO problems in the past. A crew monitored the air in the home and got readings in the basement of 150ppm and first floor readings of 40ppm. The home was ventilated, furnace pipes were removed, and the chimney was cleaned. The furnace was reassembled. When the CO readings dropped to 0ppm, the property was released back to the occupants, with the advise they have a qualified service technician check the furnace/chimney draft settings. The company was released by command and went available.
