A first alarm assignment was dispatched for a structure fire in Wiconisco Township, at 6657 Route-209. Engine-22 responded with a crew of five, followed by Truck-22 with a crew of four and Tanker-22 with a crew of two. Engine-22 arrived on scene and took side-1/4. Engine-23 arrived and took side-1/2. Truck-22 was parked south of the structure with manpower and equipment sent to the scene. Sizeup showed a one-story ranch house with heavy smoke showing from side-1/4, banking down to near ground level. Engine-22's crew pulled a line and advanced into the structure from side-4 - the garage area, while a crew from Engine-23 advanced through the front door and up the attic drop stairs. The Truck-22 crew laddered and opened up the roof, with all teams working together to meet the source of fire which was located in the attic space between two roofs. Engine-24 and Tanker-24 arrived and set up a water supply on Route-209, while Engine-22 crew members hand jacked 200 feet of 5-inch hose down to Engine-24. This line never was charged. Tankers 21, 22, and 24 staged on Route-209, with Rescue-21 also dispatched for additional manpower. Rescue-21 personnel assisted Truck-22 personnel in roof operations. Tower City Engine 66-10 and Air-Light-6660 were relocated to Station-22. The bulk of fire was knocked down using about 100 gallons of water, and thermal imaging cameras from companies 22, 23, and 24 were used to assist in overhaul. Ceilings were opened up along with roof venting to check for any possible extensions. After extensive overhaul, command released units, and Company-22 was released and returned to quarters.
