Engine-22 was dispatched to 601 Laurel Lane in Lykens Borough for a fuel spill. Upon arrival, personnel discovered that heavy rains from Hurricane Ivan had cascaded down the mountain, entered the rear of the structure, flooded the basement, spilled the fuel oil which spread throughout the basement, and eventually exited the structure through the basement windows carrying the fuel oil with it. Personnel constructed a dike and diverted incoming water away from the building. Haz Mat piggies were used to soak up the oil on the outside of the structure. Attempts were made to contact the owner to advise of the situation. Engine-22 went available.
