Company-22 was dispatched to the Northern Dauphin Branch of the Dauphin County Library in Lykens for a reported odor of something burning. Neighbors in the area contacted Lieutenant-22, who lives in the area, and he called 911 and requested Company-22, non-emergency. Engine-22 and Truck-22 responded class-3, the Engine staged on Spruce street near the Library entrance, and the Truck staged in the Library parking lot. Personnel split up and searched the area surrounding the building, with nothing found. The truck crew laddered the Library and used a thermal imaging camera to examine the roof area, including air handling units. Nothing was found. Chief-22 investigated the area North of the Library, and determined from conversation with some neighbors that residents on the other side of Wiconisco Creek, in Wiconisco Township North of the library, had been burning trash in their back yard earlier in the evening. Chief-22 placed the box available and all units returned to quarters.
